Adding Apprendly RolePlays to Articulate Rise 360

Easy steps to add engaging Apprendly content to your Articulate Online learning platform.

Updated over a week ago

Since Articulate Rise 360 does not directly support SCORM content for embedding within lessons, the recommended method for integrating Apprendly RolePlays is through iFrame embedding within your Rise 360 courses, which are then published to Articulate Online.

Steps for iFrame Integration:

  1. Create Your RolePlay: If you haven't already, create the desired RolePlay within the Apprendly platform.

  2. Access Your Dashboard: Navigate to your Apprendly dashboard.

  3. Get the iFrame Code: For the desired RolePlay, click the "Share" button and select "Get iFrame code." This will provide you with the complete iFrame code.

  4. Embed the iFrame in Rise 360:

    • Open Articulate Rise 360 and create a new course or open an existing one.

    • Go to the desired lesson (or create a new one).

    • Click the "plus" icon to add a new block.

    • Select "Multimedia" from the block types.

    • Choose "Embed."

    • Paste the complete iFrame code you copied from Apprendly RolePlay into the "Embed code" field.

  5. Adjust the Embed Width:

    • After adding the embed block, click the "Edit" button for the block (or its settings icon).

    • Change the "Embed width" setting to "Full width." This is crucial to ensure the Apprendly RolePlay displays correctly and is fully interactive.

  6. Publish to Articulate Online:

    • In Rise 360, click "Publish" in the top right corner.

    • Select "LMS" as the publish option.

    • Choose your desired SCORM version (e.g., SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004) or xAPI.

    • Click "Publish" and then "Download" the generated ZIP file.

    • Log in to your Articulate Online account.

    • Click "Publish Content" and then "Upload New Content."

    • Browse for and select the ZIP file you downloaded from Rise 360.

    • Follow the prompts to upload and make the course available.

  7. Test the Embed: Launch the Rise 360 course from within Articulate Online and navigate to the lesson containing the RolePlay to verify that it displays and functions correctly.

TinCan/xAPI and cmi5 Support

Articulate Rise 360 courses can publish to xAPI (Tin Can API) and cmi5. While Apprendly RolePlays don't currently output xAPI/cmi5, support for this is planned, using the cmi5 standard. If you require xAPI or cmi5 support for comprehensive tracking of the RolePlay's internal progress, please contact us to express your interest. This feedback helps us prioritize future development.
